deviantART takes 20% of the profit acquired through their commission app.
Compare this to simply donating points, where the artist gets 100% profit, or to using Paypal, where the artist gets 97% profit.
Seriously, 20% is incredibly ridiculous. It is just another example of deviantART taking advantage of young artists who can't recognize when they're being scammed, and milking their users for every dime they can possibly acquire.
Make an image or a journal and do commissions that way; you'll make a shitton more money in the long run.
New Account
Following up with my previous journal, I'm moving to the account Pratzelwurm (https://www.deviantart.com/pratzelwurm) . I'm also rejoining Furaffinity under the same name. It's been a good run, but it's time for a fresh start!
Rebranding Myself.
Over the past few years, I’ve been through quite a lot of big life changes, namely entering adulthood and retiring behaviors from my adolescence. Not to say I’ve lost my inner child, but as I grow up I find myself leaving things behind. Upon turning 20 and moving to a new city to continue my higher education, I feel like I’m getting a fresh start on several levels.
Thus, after seven years of being TheEndIsNearUs online, I feel like it’s time to move on that label. I’ve elected to use Pratzelwurm, which has been my secondary username for awhile, and I’ve grown quite fond of it. I guess this is a silly thing

Hey, I've got almost enough dA points to buy CORE for three months. If anyone wants to spot me another 10 points, we can both get it. I mean, I'm not gonna use them for anything else, and I haven't taken point commissions since 2014.
I need help.
Awesome update time!
Thanks to everyone who commissioned me, plus my grandparents, we are no longer in danger of losing our electricity, water, or our new house! I was even able to buy groceries today! Thank you so much to everyone who helped out, it means more to me and my family than I can express. <3
My commissions are still open, as I’m still without a stable income, but the situation is no longer urgent. Thank you all again.
